Everything started off with Neopets. Yeah, many find it a childish game, but when I play Neopets, I learnt HTML/CSS. I was fascinated by the ugly glittery things players put up on their shops, userlookups, etc, and read up about HTML. Then, I had a blog at Blogger. I found out about Blogskins and from there, I started playing with MS Paint. Things I did on that program were always pieces of rubbish. I learnt about Photoshop, but did not upgrade from Paint until much later, when I joined my current school in 2006, Crescent Girls' School. Students at my school were required to purchase a Tablet PC each, and since I finally had my own private "space", I downloaded Photoshop trials and read tutorials from wonderful sites like Outspoken-Kate and Swimchick. Using Photoshop was not easy for me at first, it took me more than a year to finally do a piece of work that I really liked.
I opened a site hosted by Freewebs at the end of 2006. It was a failure. I closed it, and reopened it early 2007. The site, buttercrazy, was a success this time. I was later hosted by Jenna of Kebena. I named my new site after my name. It was a pretty successful site, until I got tired of webdesigning and went on a long hiatus. When I wanted to return, I bought a new domain. My third site was Anglingsanity.net, opened in early September, 2007.
Anglingsanity was the most successful site about my previous three. I could get over 100 unique visitors a day, and I received four times more comments on my blogs than the other two sites. However, Anglingsanity only lasted for about six months. I decided to close it down when my interest for webdesigning was suddenly lost again. And I've returned, with oh-star.net.
Oh, no, I didn't name this site after Paramore's Oh Star. Before I knew of this song, I had a pseudo name, Star. One fine night, I was doodling when I wrote Oh Star. I liked what I wrote, and decided to use it when I was choosing a site name.
I would like to thank the following sites for their resources/tutorials/etc:
1. Outspoken-Kate
2. Swim Chick
3. Faltered Patience
4. Juvenile Casualty
5. Elegance Pixelfied
6. Instant Rock
7. Killing in the Name
